Selecta Systems Statement – The Ready-2-Fit Range of Composite Doors

Following a Sales and Customer Review Meeting, Selecta Systems Ltd have taken the decision to only supply our Ready-2-Fit Range of Composite Doors to customers whom fabricate windows and doors from our range of profiles. Therefore, this now means that Selecta Systems will only supply the complete Ready-2-Fit Range of Composite, EASi-FOLD, Bi-fold and Patio Doors to our Advance 70 fabricators.AndyFeb2017v2Web

The Ready-2-Fit Range was originally set-up to support our existing customer base where customers may have not had the time, space and resources to fabricate specialist doors. This range of doors has also allowed some of our fabricators to diversify and explore markets without the requirement of fabricating.

Moving forward we will be launching a Selecta Approved Supplier Network to create and divert any home and trade leads to our fabricator customers. We’ll be contacting our fabricator customers on how they can be part of this excellent opportunity which was originally trialled last year and we are looking forward to launching in the very near future.

The decision to only supply The Ready-2-Fit Range of Composite Doors as well as EASi-FOLD, Bi-fold and Patio Doors to our fabricators was born out of loyalty and support to our key customer base. Our long-term aim is to further support our fabricators, not compete, and so we are delighted to announce this advancement in our customer support programme and look forward to continuing to build on our customer relationships further.

Exclusive Collection Opens New Doors

Selecta are reveling in the success of the of the Exclusive Collection Range of Composite Doors. Marketing Manager, Mark Walker, explains the reasons why the comprehensive range of composite doors have proved to be a hit.


The Exclusive Collection – More than just a quality brochure

“The promotion of the Exclusive Collection has been more of a re-launch than just the introduction of a new brochure. Months of research, negotiations and hard work were spent ensuring that we were giving customers what they wanted and not just what we thought they wanted! Initially it was about raising the quality and feel of the brochure as this is what essentially sells the door to the end consumer. We looked at giving the brochure that something different to what was already out there by using new printing techniques and having a high build varnish cover to replicate the feel and grain of a composite door. Response to the brochure has been excellent which is pleasing as any brochure you pass on to an end consumer is a representation of the company that is selling / installing the door”.

Mark continues, “The Exclusive Collection has also seen the introduction of new door styles, new glass designs, door colour options, contemporary door furniture and a PAS 24 / Document Q and Secured by Design Yale door locking system. The Selecta range of composite doors come with a manufactured product 10 year guarantee which includes the Fab & Fix and Trojan door furniture, ERA Vectis Plus, ERA Trimlock and Yale Mantis III door locking systems. The Nan Ya slab is covered by a 25 year warranty as part of the package. The three Exclusive Collection composite door locking systems are all accredited and certified to PAS 24 and Secured by Design, meaning installing within new build properties is not an issue with the requirements of Documents Q met.

The recently issued 2nd Edition of the Exclusive Collection has been filled with further developments and enhancements to the range and to the online door designer and ordering portal, Door Manager.

Door Manager proving very popular

“Door Manager has been with us now for approximately 18 months and we have seen the online system grow in popularity owing to its simplistic and easy to use interface. With over 1200 registrations on our system, we now have our customer base self-quoting, designing and ordering online. This has helped order processing and production efficiency as less time is spent going backwards and forwards to customer because of missed items on orders or dodgy faxed prints! Door Manager is to be developed further over the coming months which will make it not just an online designer and ordering portal but a powerful sales tool for our customers to utilise and generate leads”.

Selecta also offer an alternative composite door brochure, which is seen as a unique and simplistic offering to customers wanting a lesser range and easy up-sell to the end consumer. The Classic Collection has been popular amongst those customers wanting a smaller range of composite doors.

Classic Collection Quality

Mark recalls “The Classic Collection was launched following feedback from customers whom didn’t want to offer a huge range of composite doors. The range consists of five slab colours, four popular door styles, a handful of triple glazed glass designs, a Yale door lock with Secured by Design options all packaged in a 16 page brochure with just one price for all doors! The Classic Collection works in so many ways for certain customers whom instantly know the price of every door when face to face with a customer, with a lot of customers now using it as a their ‘Special Offer’ doors. Quality is also not compromised, with the same Nan Ya slab, Fab & Fix door furniture and Yale door locks used as in the Exclusive Collection. Customers are really getting a quality affordable composite door!”

Mark concludes “The Classic Collection is in the process of further developments mainly owing to its success. We are adding four new families of triple glazed glass designs to the range and maintaining the one brochure, one price theme. The Classic Collection makes up approximately 30% of all our composite door sales because they are quality composite doors at an excellent price point”.

More Than Just Another New Composite Door Brochure!

The Selecta Systems pedigree has long been established as providing quality products, breadth of choice all of which are combined with excellent support services. Whilst the company has seen steady change and substantial growth recently, the management team is geared up to once again further improve options for customers.

The first of these comes with the introduction of new and improved Composite Door options as well as a luxury brochure, which highlights all the benefits of the range that is available from the company.

Launched by Mark Walker, Marketing and Design Manager at Selecta Systems, ‘The Exclusive Collection’ brochure focuses on the technical advantages and striking aesthetics within the range.

Mark comments, “Previously we had two brochures which we felt could be cumbersome for customers to carry around when approaching homeowners.  The true merits of the range could easily have been lost so we have incorporated all key advantages in concise detail – which we feel sure will be extremely advantageous to customers as POS material.”

Great care has gone into the development of the new Selecta brochure with existing popular styles and new contemporary door options included, primarily to attract and then meet the needs of consumers looking to truly personalise their homes.

As homeowners continue to explore new possibilities and look to make individual statements on their properties, it was important to the R&D team at Selecta that customers could offer performance and style in an attractive package that catered for all sized budgets.

Mark continues. “We’ve added more colours with 42 now on offer but with the added option of choosing any RAL number, which gives an unlimited colour pallet.”

A completely new range of decorative glass designs has been introduced with 11 of the 12 concepts being triple glazed. Furthermore, a new range of contemporary and stainless steel hardware has been launched which includes new pull handle options.

Technically the Selecta Composite Door range provides many benefits including high performance, weathertightness and security. The addition of a new Yale lock ensures that the range meets all current industry legislation including PAS24, with the Secured by Design accreditation due to be received in the next few weeks.

Manufactured from GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic), the Selecta doors are compression moulded to give a high definition panel design with an authentic timber appearance which is unaffected by variations in temperature. The stiles and rails are composed of a water resistant polymer that are bonded to the skin and then filled with an insulating core of 100% CFC- free polyurethane.

Production levels are set to increase with customers already impressed by the standards offered.  Key advantages include the strength, security, reliability and low maintenance which provide an overall stunning aesthetic. Manufactured with a 10 year guarantee, the doors can be simply and easily fit without any fear of technical issues arising.

Selecta FIT Show Football Winners!

Football WinnersAs part of Selecta’s encouragement to involve and give opportunities to members of staff, Selecta decided to enter the FIT Show 5-a-side Football Tournament organised by Mick Clayton, Chief Executive Officer of GQA Qualifications. The tournament was held at the AFC Telford United Goalzone and was played out in what can only be described as ‘great weather for ducks!’

FIT Events, Paul Godwin was on hand to support the evening, providing medals, a Winner’s trophy and complimentary food and drink after the games.

Selecta ran out winners, unbeaten in all their games in a rain sodden tournament which didn’t dampen the spirit of the teams taking part. There were some competitive games which were played out in good spirit and thoroughly enjoyed by all with some veterans turning back the clocks!

Selecting Selecta was Simple for Simon!

Selecta have continued their recent recruitment drive with the appointment of Simon Packwood as their new Commercial Sales Manager for Composite Doors. Simon will be based at the Birmingham businesses headquarters in a completely new role which is aimed at introducing the Selecta Specialist Doors range of composite doors to local authorities, housing associations and within commercial developments.
